Veselý’s Advancement Interrupted by Heavy Rain
01.06.2016 20:21:51 | Jiří Veselý made it through to the quarter-final as the second Czech. He defeated Tipsarevič of Serbia, the former world No. 8. “I made the match quite dramatic myself. It was up and down today. I played some great shots, but then I made unbelievable errors and showed rather average performance." What was important for the development of the match?

Dominik Kellovský: “A great experience, despite the defeat“
01.06.2016 15:50:07 | Dominik Kellovský met No. 4 seed Inigo Cervantes (69th ATP) in today’s first match. He had surprisingly ousted Alexander Kudrjavcev of Russia in the first round but the Spaniard was too much for him. “It was not a great match on my part. I had a great first round on court No. 1. Today, I played on the Centre Court for the first time. Unfortunately, I didn’t rise to the occasion. It just wasn’t my day today.“

Pavlásek brings back memories of the 2014 season
01.06.2016 15:40:55 | Adam Pavlásek defeated No. 7 seed Rogeiro Dutra Silva (85th ATP) in the second round of the UniCredit Czech Open (85.). He has improved his head-to-head stats to 1:2 and advanced to the quarter-final. “It was a very tough match for me. The opponent had the upper hand in the first set. He played very fast and I didn’t have the strength to match him. I improved my performance in the second set which was fairy equal. It went to tiebreak which I finally won, but it could have easily been the opponent. It was very tight, there was a number of breaks and it was only decided by one or two balls. We played the third set and I’m glad I had a good start.

Tuesday is followed by Czech Wednesday
01.06.2016 09:37:34 | The AGROFERT Arena’s Centre Court offers an attractive programme featuring Czech players again: four Czechs will appear in matches to reach the quarter-finals from 11.00 a.m. The first match will see Dominik Kellovský against No. 4 seed Inigo Cervantes (69th ATP). Kellovský entered the tournament as a wildcard and surprisingly ousted Alexander Kudrjavcev of Russia in the first round. The second match will see Adam Pavlásek (132nd ATP) vs. Rogerio Dutra Silva of Brazil (85th ATP). The Czech has bad head-to-head statistics 0-2 against him.

Czech Tuesday: Zdeněk Kolář is the only Czech to lose
31.05.2016 21:10:58 | Four Czechs appeared in four matches on the AGROFERT Arena Centre Court on Tuesday. Three of them succeeded. It was only Zdeněk Kolář who succumbed to the top seeded Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania in the opening match. “I made too many unforced errors which you cannot afford against No. 50 in the world,“ said Kolář after the match. Jiří Veselý began his campaign to defend the title against the lucky loser Miki Jankovič of Serbia. However, his performance was rather average and Veselý could not be satisfied.
