Qualifications Culminating With One Czech Player

05.06.2017 10:12:19 | Prostějov tournament has gathered the best quality qualifiers so far in the recent history of UniCredit Czech Open. Eleven Czech tennis players are on the list, the best being Petr Michnev, aged 27, (ATP ranking 242 ). Michnev beat his countryman Jaroslav Pospíšil in the opening round, Moltchanov of Ukraine in the second round, and he made it to the third round which opens the door to the main competition. There he will face his countryman Robin Staněk and thus Czech tennis is sure to have the fourth Czech player in the main competition, besides the second seeded Jiří Veselý (57th), the eighth seeded Adam Pavlásek (97th), and Patrik Rikl with a wild card.

Robin Staněk beat Wessels of Germany in the first qualification round, and Nys of France in the second round after a great struggle. Nys served to win in the second set but Staněk pulled himself together, turned the set into a tiebreaker and from then on he was clearly better. He played the third set with the same confidence.
What is the decision-making program of the qualification, matches for the four spare places in the main competition? Janvier (FR) – Skugor (HR), Michnev – Staněk (both CZ), Krawietz (DE) – Sorgi (BR), Lestienne (FR) – Eriksson (SE).
