Eighteen year old Patrik Rikl played very intrepidly and although he lost his serve in the third game, he was back in the match when he stole the serve from Klizan in the eighth game. "I regret the first set, I had several chances and I did not use them," said young member of the Sparta club after the match.
Both Rikl and Klizan were given wildcards. "Patrik definitely deserved it, he is one of the Czech hopes and he did not disappoint us in the match with Klizan. It is a pity, had the draw been a little bit more merciful, he could perhaps be celebrating now," the director Petra Cernoskova stated.
