He struggled to find his rhythm throughout the match, with his opponent dominating play from the outset and maintaining control for most of the contest.
"I'm not sure what went wrong. My recovery after the first match was good, and I felt well-prepared for the next one. But once we began playing, nothing seemed to click. I couldn't find my rhythm, and I felt like I had no momentum to build on. While my opponent played solidly, I was particularly disappointed in my own performance. Sometimes, you just have a bad day, and unfortunately, this was one of those days," explained Svrcina, who only managed to win the first game at the start of the second set. At 1:2, he did break his opponent's serve, but it was not enough to turn the match around. "If I had capitalized on that break, perhaps things could have been different. But it never happened. That was my only opportunity to shift the momentum in my favor, and I missed it," said the defending champion. "It's disappointing, but I have to focus on what's ahead. I'll be participating for tournaments in Bratislava and Poznan next, so hopefully, things will improve," Svrcina concluded.
