05.06.2024 16:36:22 | Vit Kopriva's attempt to replicate his success from 2022 was thwarted by his unexpected elimination in the second round of the UniCredit Czech Open. Tseng Chun-hsin of Taiwan proved too good for the fourth-seeded player. Despite initially holding a break advantage in the first set, the Prostejov player was eventually defeated 4-6, 2-6.
"At the beginning, I played quite well, but I had a sense that something was still missing. Despite being in the lead, I couldn't capitalize on some crucial rallies, resulting in losing the set and denting my confidence," confessed Kopriva, who struggled to find his rhythm throughout the match, including in the second set."
"He didn't make many errors, and I was aware of what I was up against. However, I couldn't capitalize on my opponent's weaknesses, and the match gradually slipped away from me," said the Czech player. He admitted his disappointment with the match's progression was evident especially in the final game at 2:5. “I wouldn’t say I gave up; I was still trying to turn the match around. However, I hurried some of the rallies, which ultimately lead to the final outcome," said Kopriva.
