08.06.2023 11:27:16 | The singles at the 30th UniCredit Czech Open have been dominated by Czech players which is also the case in doubles matches. Czech tennis is represented by three players in the semi-finals, which means that at least one will certainly make it to the final! The top-seeded pair Ariel Behar (Uru), Adam Pavlásek will play Czechs Zdeněk Kolář and Jakub Menšík for a spot in the final. The other semi-final match will see Italian Marco Bortolotti and Spaniard Martos Gornes against a Czech pair Petr Nouza and Andrew Paulson.
They entered the doubles very successfully as they defeated the second-seeded pair Roman Jebavý and Luis Ven Martinez from Venezuela in the first round. The quarter-final match against the excellent Slovakian doubles player Igor Zelenay and Swiss Margaroli was crucial for the top seeds Pavlasek and Behar. They were down 2:5 in the first set but then they won five games in a row. In the second set Zelenay and Margaroli did not win a single game. What about the semifinals? Will the top seeds Kolář and Menšík surprise and will Nouza and Paulson continue their excellent doubles performance? We will know the answer to this question late Thursday afternoon.
