Tomáš Macháč Gives His Opponent Only Two Games

07.06.2023 16:30:33 | Tomáš Macháč also advanced from to the quarter-finals after winning his match against Mate Valkusz of Hungary. The home player won the first set 6:2. In the second set, he did not give his opponent a single game. "I entered the match knowing that my opponent had to play the qualification round and would be a bit tired. I started aggressively and showed him he wouldn't stand a chance.

It paid off as his opponent broke down during the first set," said Macháč who believes his thorough preparation over the last few weeks is starting to bear fruits. "It seems I have found my game again," said the Czech player satisfactorily. In the battle for a spot in semi-finals, Macháč will face another player from the qualification round: Roman Andres Burruchaga of Argentina (251st ATP).
