Will Czech Players Appear in the Semis?

02.06.2022 10:58:49 | The Centre Court will see four quarter-final matches today: Czechs will have three chances and the Slovaks two. What is new in Prostėjov tennis? The traditional partner of the Prostėjov tournament, UniCredit Bank, returns to the scene and Czech-Slovak matches are a natural part of this renown bank’s philosophy. Our bank is a reminder of the federal times as it is one of a few institutions that operate in both Czech and Slovak markets.

From this perspective, this connection and the opportunity to see the best Czech and Slovak  players is perfectly in line with the our tennis journey," said Jakub Dusílek, Chairman of the Board and CEO of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, at the press conference. What did Miroslav Černošek, the head of Prostėjov tennis, have to say? “In addition to interesting foreign tennis stars, the tournament will also feature representatives of the Slovak and Czech Davis Cup teams, which is certainly interesting given the fact that UniCredit Bank operates in both republics."

What are the Czech chances? The second match on the Centre Court will feature Vít Kopøiva (167th ATP) vs. Pucinelli de Almeida of Brazil (224th), then Dalibor Svrčina (202nd ATP) vs. the wild card holder Hamad Medjedoviæ of Serbia (452nd ATP) who is in great form in Prostėjov. The last match will see Martin Krumich (483rd ATP) facing Filip Horanský of Slovakia (191st ATP) . Slovaks will have their second chance right in the first quarterfinal match: Klein (336th ATP) is meeting Benjamin Hassan of Lebanon (316th ATP).
