MONETA Czech Open: Two Czech Chances For Semis and One For the Final

17.06.2021 09:36:44 | At 11:00 a.m. the AGROFERT Arena of the National Tennis Center Moravia will see the first chance of the Czech tennis for the singles semi-finals: Zdeněk Kolář will face Tobias Kamke who previously knocked out Jiří Veselý. The thirty-five-year-old German plays in the Hana Region for the first time.

His solid and, most importantly, patient tennis from the base line is very efficient. It was this strategy that sent the second seeded Veselý home. Dalibor Svrčina built on his good performance in the first round in which he ousted Alexander Erler of Austria. However, the third seeded Italian Gianluca Mager (ATP 87) will be a big favorite in the match against the eighteen-year-old Czech hope. “He’s an excellent player. He plays fast, doesn’t make many mistakes and is very experienced. I’m looking forward to the match. It’s great I can play somebody from the top hundred again after a year,“ said Svrčina before the quarter-final match.
Roman Jebavý and Zdeněk Kolář of the Czech Republic will battle the Dutch-Venezuelan couple Sqanders Arends and Luis David Martinez for the final. The Czech couple advanced to the semi-finals after beating their natives Lehečka and Kopřiva. The latter couple was leading 8:3 in the super tiebreak, then even 9:6, wasted two match points, then another two, and finally lost 13:15…
The other doubles semi-final will see  Nedověsov of Kazakhstan and Oliveira of Portugal versus Zaballos a Dellien of Bolivia. Dellien and Kolář are the only ones who will fight in both singles and doubles. They both have a chance to win both finals at the MONETA Czech Open tournament…
