MONETA Czech Open: The Center Court To See the Czechs and the Top Seed Today

15.06.2021 09:30:55 | The second day of MONETA Czech Open will see all Czechs, the top seed Pablo Andujar as well as the opening of the doubles competition. The AGROFERT Arena will first see another Czechoslovak duel, this time featuring Jiří Lehečka and Lukáš Klein. Their ATP ranking is almost identical: Lehečka occupies the 263rd place and Klein is 9 places ahead of him.

What is their H2H balance? So far it is tied 2:2. Lehečka won their last mutual match in Bratislava recently which was only decided in the third set tiebreak. All their mutual matches took three sets... Last year, Lehečka made it to the semifinals in Prostějov in which he lost to the later champion Majchrzak of Poland. Unlike the last year, he did not need a wild card this year. The Center Court will next see the Czech No. 1, the second seeded Jiří Veselý (ATP 73) who will face the Argentinian Facundo Mena (ATP 263). Jiří Veselý has a chance to rewrite the statistics of the Prostějov challenger which includes three triple champions: Jan Hájek, Radek Štěpánek and Jiří Veselý himself. He can take the first step today. The third match on the Center Court will feature the top seed Pablo Andujar (ATP 70) of Spain against Yosuke Watanuki of Japan in which the Spaniard will be a big favorite. The first match of MONETA Czech Open tournament on Court No. 1 will see Daniel Siniakov. He will be having a hard time against the Argentinian Sebastian Baez (ATP 158).
