14.06.2021 10:36:22 | Last year, when the Czech tennis was recovering from the difficult Covid times, MONETA Money Bank was basically involved in all projects organized by the Czech Tennis Association. It joined the Czech Open tournament already in 2018, which change came after a period of twenty years. A year earlier, this reputed bank became the general partner of the Czech Tennis Association and it was natural that it would also be involved in the Prostėjov Challenger. The Czech Open in the Hana Region has always been a matter of prestige for the Czech Tennis Association.
“We are really happy and it is a great honour for us to be the titular partner of and participate in the greatest Czech tournament.“ We are the general partner of the Czech Tennis Association, try to help in searching for new talents and ensure that the Czech Republic continues to be a world’s tennis power," said Tomáš Spurný, general manager of MONETA Money Bank, at the first tournament in Prostėjov in 2018.
What did Miroslav Černošek, director of TK PLUS, say about the connection with the reputed banking house? “The Czech tennis and the tournament in Prostėjov deserve a truly successful and visionary company as a partner and I am glad that we received help from Tomáš Spurný, general manager, and Aleš Sloupenský, director of Moneta Money Bank in this difficult situation with regard to funding of our tournament and Czech sports in general. We greatly appreciate it and believe we will be able to further continue the grand tradition of our tournament. We are also looking forward to our collaboration in growing tennis talents, which is much needed in particular for our men's tennis. Girls rank among the world's top players, boys are still lagging behind and the help from MONETA Money Bank is one of the desirable ways how to stop the downfall."
The organizers traditionally give free cards primarily to domestic players as they want to make it possible for them to win important ranking points at home. This attitude is absolutely in line with the expectations of our titular partner. This was also discussed at a press conference in Prostėjov which was held before the MONETA Czech Open 2021 tournament. “We have been supporting the Czech tennis and its young hopes for a long time. It’s been an honour and pleasure for us. We want to help the next-generation players to make their dreams come true. We believe they will eventually become Grand Slam champions,” said Eva Furdová, regional manager of the MONETA Money Bank retail network.
