Moneta Czech Open: Will Czechs Take the Last Opportunity?

Lehečka and Veselý advanced to the doubles semi-final on Wednesday. They defeated brothers Locks of Zimbabwe 6:4, 6:0 in less than one hour. These two players are the last Czech hope at the MONETA Czech Open tournament. What did Jiří Lehečka say after the match?
“We won and we’re happy. I was a bit nervous made a few mistakes at the beginning but then I recovered.” And Jiří Veselý? “We were obviously a better couple even though a few games didn’t meet our expectations at the beginning. We made silly but at 5:4 we served for the set and won it. We dominated in the second set. We had more confidence and played better doubles tennis on the court.” What did Lehečka add? “We also improved our return in the second set which was crucial for us to win the second set convincingly.”
Veselý and Lehečka will meet a Ukrainian-Slovak couple Molčanov, Zelenay in clash for the final. Another Czech couple Dominik Kellovský and Marek Gengel did not advance to the semis: they lost to the top seeded Arevalo and Reyes-Varela.
