03.06.2019 17:22:28 | The policy of the MONETA Czech Open tournament in Prostejov bears fruits: the seventeen-year old Jiří Lehečka took advantage of the wild card and defeated Jan Šátral in three sets. The talented player dominated on the court especially in the final set in which he had more energy and much bigger serve than his opponent.
“I noticed that he was getting tired. He’s been very busy recently. He played the final at the tournament in Moscow and then he drove to Prostějov. I had more energy in the end,“ said Lehečka who was very happy about his advance. “I had nothing to lose and that was why I played quite relaxed. Everything was fine except for the end of the second set. Of course, I wanted to take good use of the wild card. I got it because they believe in me and I’m happy I didn’t fail them,” said Lehečka. In the next round he is to face the ninth seeded Daniel Elahi Galan of Columbia who occupies 197th place in the ATP rankings.
