07.06.2018 16:09:37 | Ymer lost his serve at 2:2 for the first time but immediately won it back from Munar. It turned out to be the Spaniard’s last chance in the opening set. Ymer kept the lead and won the set 6:3. The Swede started the second set in a victorious mood but tenacious and accurate Munar did not give him any more chances. The Spaniard won 6:1 after forty minutes and levelled the sets. He won the third set with the same score. Honestly, Munar was not expected to reach the quarter finals by many.
How did Jaume Munar comment on the match? “It was similar like yesterday. I played the first game well and then I got worse. I wouldn’t say Ymer played better in the first set. However, he was more concentrated and deserved to win it. I tried to play like yesterday and pushed a lot. I was more focused from the beginning of the second set until the end, which actually decided the match.”
In the first set, Munar lost his serve three times. What was the reason? “Serve is usually my best shot. However, I haven’t been very comfortable with it this week. Yes, I lost my serve three times in the first set, but I served better in the next two sets. I went through difficult moments and I managed to come back, which is most important for me.” The Spaniard will meet Melzer of Austria in the next round. What does he expect from the match? “I’m sure it’s gonna be a tough match. It’s the semi-final and anybody who’s made it that far must have been playing wonderful tennis this week. I’m looking forward to it. Melzer has beaten me once this year. So, I’ll have to change something if I want to advance to the final.”
