06.06.2018 13:33:58 | Gerald Melzer of Austria gave his opponent almost no chance in today’s match and advanced to the quarter final with ease. “Well, the result suggests it was easy, but it was actually much more difficult than it seems. We played many long and tight games particularly in the first set. I faced many breakpoints and had to save my serve. However, I managed to win important points today. It was a tough match and I didn’t give my opponent many easy points. I think he could feel that pressure.“
Melzer will meet Caruso or Albot in the next round. Who would he prefer? “I have played Caruso in the past and I know him well. Both of them are wonderful players. I’m satisfied with my today’s performance and hope to bring the positive energy to the next round.“
How does Melzer like the tournament in Prostìjov? “The tournament is perfectly organised and the players are treated very well here. Everybody puts a lot of effort into it. The tennis facility is great. Honestly speaking, we don’t have anything that would be even close to it in Austria. Tennis is much bigger in the Czech Republic then for example in Austria.“
