01.06.2017 11:18:57 | The list of participants in the 24th year of UniCredit Czech Open confirms that the best quality challenger in the Czech tennis history will be played in Prostėjov from 5th to 10th of June. Thirteen tennis players from among the top 100 are on the list, other excellent players are just below the line! The Prostėjov tournament has been held during the second week of Roland Garros since 1997 and, of course, the second Grand Slam of the season will decide who will finally appear in Prostėjov.
"We still belong among the highest category of challengers thanks to increased prize money. Another thing that helped us was the termination of a simultaneous tournament in Furth, Germany. Clay players from Paris head for Prostėjov, we are the only clay tournament, all other events are played on grass," explains Petra Černošková, UniCredit Czech Open director for the 19th year in a row! As every year, the Černošeks visited Roland Garros during the first week, where they were outlining the player list for UniCredit Czech Open in a number of meetings, but – wishes are one thing, but the results on Paris clay make the decision. "In the end, Paris will decide about the final player list, depending on how those, who we negotiated participation with, will do. If they do not come to Prostėjov, it will only confirm that we made a good selection," the boss of the Prostėjov Challenger adds.
