Yet, the great Serbian player seemed to have a good start to the match. “Actually, the first set was more difficult for me. I was leading 3-0 and had a chance for a double break at 40:0. The opponent was rather nervous at the beginning. You know, he was playing an older and more experienced player who used to be good in the past and he gave away a lot of easy points. But then he relaxed, I became very passive and couldn’t return to the match. I should have closed the match earlier but it is not easy to play here. We play with Wilson US Open balls which are very fast and the courts are extremely fast too. It’s hard to control the balls. I hope I’ll play better tomorrow.“
What impression has the Prostějov tournament made on Tipsarevič? “I like it here. Actually, I like it very much. I like to prepare for the season at places like this one. There is not much to do but you have everything you need. There are enough practise courts, we have been lucky with the weather, and the hotel is great too. I’ve never been at a tournament where I could go to a match right from my bedroom... I hope the weather will stay like this till the end of the week.“
