06.06.2015 14:06:33 | Almost nobody expected Djere of Serbia to advance to the finals of the UniCredit Czech Open. Did he expect such smooth defeat from Veselý in the final match? “I tried very hard but I had previously played three hard matches against three top hundred players. I spent three hours on the court yesterday and I had no energy left. I played more than a hundred percent. I really tried hard, but I couldn’t have played any better. Veselý showed a great performance. He had a big serve and he broke me early in the first set. I couldn’t get into the match, I didn’t have the energy. However, it’s been the greatest success of my career so far. I’m leaving for Moscow tomorrow to play another challenger and then I will try to get to the Wimbledon qualification.“
Did the home-court environment help Veselý? “It’s always advantageous to play at home and enjoy the support of the crowd. But frankly speaking I have to admit that the crowd was very fair. They also applauded when I played a good shot. Jiøí had a little advantage, but it was a fair match.
How did Djere enjoy the tournament and will he come back? “Everything’s been really great here: the courts were great, a wonderful hotel, nice and helpful people. The tournament was of very professional level and I really enjoyed it. If possible, I’d like to come back next year.
