Doubles finals decided only in the super tie-break

05.06.2015 18:38:23 | Julian Knowle and Philipp Oswald of Austria won the first title at the UniCredit Czech Open. They defeated the Polish-Slovakian team Mateusz Kowalczyk and Igor Zelenay 4:6, 6:3, 11:9 in the doubles finals. What did the champions say after the match? “We didn’t really have a great start. Our opponents played well and were definitely a better team in the first set. Our misery continued in the second set. We lost our serve very early and we almost thought we couldn’t make it. However, we managed to win four games in a row and turned the match around. We played as a team and we supported each other.

How did the Austrians feel about the tournament? “It’s been a great event for a challenger. The organization has been just great. There are many courts here, very good food, the hotel is nearby. The organizers have really done a great job. We would like to thank the organizers as well as the sponsors because it wouldn’t be possible without them.“

Will Julian Knowle and Philipp Oswald come next year? “We don't know yet, but we’d love to.“
