07.06.2014 11:37:50 | A press conference with Jiri Kunert, general director of UniCredit Bank CR, Petra Cernoskova, tournament director, Ivo Kaderka, prezident of Czech Tennis Association, and Miroslav Cernosek, director of TK PLUS was traditionally held before the finals match of the 21st edition of the UniCredit Czech Open. How did Jiri Kunert evaluate the tournament?
“I would rather symbolically start from the other end. I’m already looking forward to the next edition. It’s our pleasure to participate in this tournament. We’re proud of it. Prostejov challenger is clearly the best Czech tournament. In cooperation with Mirek Cernosek, we’ve supported primarily the participation of Czech players. It should be an opportunity for them to enter the big tennis. That’s also why I’m really happy that three Czech players have reached the semifinals. It’s also great for our bank that the Slovak tennis has a representative in the finals. Our bank has provided services under the trade name of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia since December. And it is right in the first edition after the change that the Slovak tennis has a finalist.
I’d like to thank Petra Cernoskova, the tournament director, and her team for her great effort and careful management of the tournament, Ivo Kaderka for his support of the Czech Tennis Club, and, of course, Mirek Cernosek for all the care he has provided not only to the tournament but also to its preparation. Everything went right for the tournament. Contrary to the last year, we didn’t have problems with the weather and there has been the largest crowd in the history. The tournament was also accompanied by quality events: tennis tournament for clients and favourers of our bank and the traditional golf tournament which was held in Slavkov u Brna in Austerlitz Golf Club. Everything’s been to our complete satisfaction. And like I said at the beginning, I’m already looking forward to the next edition.”
