08.06.2013 13:10:30 | Prostejov organizers traditionally hold an interesting exhibition match at the end of the tournament. This year, Carlos Moya and Jiri Novak performed on the Centre Court before the finals. Novak won the exhibition match 6:3 but neither of the players really cared about the score. How did Moya enjoy his stay in Prostejov? „I didn’t expect to find such well equipped facilities and courts at the local club. I also enjoyed today’s match. We often played with Jiri in the past and those were equal matches. That’s why I looked forward to facing Jiri after many years in today’s match,“ Moya said after the match. He’s returning to Paris today afternoon to appear in the Legends Final. Later, he is going to play a tournament in Scotland and other exhibitions.
And Jiri Novak? “I had a negative balance 6:7 against Carlos in my career. I don’t consider today’s victory to have leveled up the score. We’ve met with Carlos repeatedly since we were juniors and we clashed a few times. So, we know each other very well. I’m really glad he accepted the invitation and came to play the exhibition match as a former world number one. I really enjoyed today’s exhibition which was played in an entertaining and I believe attractive tempo.“
