06.06.2013 19:40:58 | Peter Gojowczyk became the last semifinalist of UniCredit Czech Open. He has defeated the sixth-seeded Albert Ramos of Spain in the quarter-finals. “I was a little nervous at the beginning of today’s match. I was thinking about what I should play on the court and I guess I did a good job. I’ve advanced to my second semifinals this season at a big and strong tournament.”
Was today’s victory more important than that over Nieminen in the first round for Gojowczyk?
“Both matches were great. I really enjoy playing against lefties. In that case I can play backhand cross which the lefties don’t like. I can exert pressure all the time and that’s what they, of course, do not like. I think I’ve played very well today. I was aggressive, managed to keep a very good serve, and I returned quite well, too.
What does he expect from the match against Vesely who will be supported by the home audience?
“I’ve seen a few of his matches at this tournament and you can tell he has a lot of confidence on the court. He’s nineteen, has a big serve and just goes for it. But I also trust myself after today’s match and I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s match. We’ll see.”
