03.06.2013 14:14:13 | Ivo Minář is the second to get through qualification after Miloslav Mečíř; he beat Adam Pavlásek in the important match 6-4, 6-2 and he won the participation in the main tournament. What was the most difficult step on the way to the main competition? "The first match with Süc was the hardest. I was one set minus, break and 0-40. That was really tough. Two balls would decide the match but I managed to reverse that and the other two matches were easier compared to the first one.“
You spoke about the first difficult step but what about the last one with Pavlásek that decided your participation in the main tournament? "I was self-confident before today's match. Adam is a good opponent and he was better than the two guys before him but in the end I managed to beat him in two sets. The first set was even, I used the first break ball but then we both kept our service. The second set was somewhat easier."
This is not your first participation at the Prostějov tournament, how do you like the courts? "I was here once in the semifinals and also in the finals, so I know this tournament and I like to play here. I just hope the weather improves and the floods stop bothering people."
What are your goals for this year's UniCredit Czech Open? "My first clear aim was to get through the qualification. I achieved that and now we will see what the draw brings. Then, I have to proceed step by step, match by match."
What do you think of the quality of the tournament's twentieth year? "This is one of the strongest and best challengers ever. There are less and less tournaments and this one is of excellent quality. There are four of the top ATP players on wild card every year and that is a fantastic challenge for players like me".
