09.06.2012 15:10:06 | A press conference was traditionally held before the final match. Jiri Kunert, General Manager of UniCredit Bank, Ivo Kaderka, President of Czech Tennis Association, Miroslav Cernosek, Executive of TK PLUS, and Petra Langrova, Tennis Project Manager of TK PLUS, who has been the Tournament Director for the fourth time, sat behind the chairman’s table. How would Jiri Kunert, general manager of UniCredit Bank, evaluate the tournament? “It’s been perfectly organized again and I’d like to thank to everybody who has contributed to it. All expectations of our bank have been met, the accompanying events were, as usual, of very high quality. We managed to attract excellent tennis players to Prostejov again, and it was only a pity that the top-seeded Verdasco dropped out so early.”
I didn’t see the match, I heard he really fought hard, but there weren’t probably the best conditions for him. We witnessed excellent finals here: Hajek versus the third-seeded Mayer. The tournament brings great merit to our bank: the name UniCredit Bank is brought to the fore not only in our region but far beyond its boundaries during this week. I’ve always said that we mainly focused on Moravia, but the tournament is popular all over the country. It is an important place on the tennis map after those many years. I would also like to say with little exaggeration that our tennis tournament holds a very important position comparable to the football Champions League. To cut the long story short, I really was extremely satisfied with the Prostejov tournament.”
