Yet, in the semi-final against Radek Stepanek Schukin delivered very good performance, kept cool mind during decisive moments and deservedly defeated Stepanek in three sets 3:6, 6:3, 6:4. Read how he commented on the match: “Stepanek is an extraordinary player, one never knows what to expect from him, his style is demanding, he often changes pace of the game and tries to get his opponents out of rhythm. But I know him very well and I do not mind changing pace of the game so I was able to resist. Moreover, I fought hard for every ball and it turned out as successful strategy in the end. This victory is very precious for me, this season was not very successful for me and the victories like this make me more confident.”
