In the final they defeated the first seeded Spanish pair Rairez-Hidalgo, Marrero 7:5, 6:2. Sergei Bubka, the only Ukrainian amongst three Spaniards, was satisfied after the match! Read on for his comments.
“I am happy we made it in the final although I do not think that our opponents delivered their best performance today. For me it is a good satisfaction after my unsuccessful match against Cipolli in the round of singles. I did not expect to stay so long in Prostejov but now I am happy I did. If it is possible I will come next year with pleasure again.” Sergei Bubka used to participate at training camps in Prostejov long time ago: “I always liked it here and I am happy I can see the tennis facilities developing here. I have good memories about the times when I used to come with my mom and dad here and I feel good here even today.” The son of a famous athlete Sergei Bubka hopes for promising future in his tennis career: “I love tennis and I am sure it was a good choice for my sports career. The only thing I am not very satisfied about are my results, but I trust myself and hope that my greatest achievements will come soon.”
