31.05.2011 11:53:10 | Seed no. 2, Spanish Tommy Roberdo currently ranking on 31st position in ATP, withdrew from the tournament UniCredit Czech Open. “We saw him practising on the court this morning but during the training he renewed his old injury and decided not to go on,” said the tournament manager Jaroslav Navratil.
“Tommy got injured at the tournament in Indian Wells, he wricked his thigh muscle and had it torn a little, now he has been practising for two weeks again and wanted to use our tournament to get back to the tour. It is a great pity for our tournament because of two reasons – at first he is a great player, at second we could have invited Stachovsij or Tipsarevitz. There is nothing to be done now, we have to respect his decision. But I must say that he acted very professionally – his approach was more fair than to start a game, quit it and collect money … we saved some money but we will miss this player anyway,” added Navratil.
