Seed 4 Daniel Gimeno-Traver (Spain – ATP no. 55); seed 5 Yen-Hsun Lu (Tchajwan – ATP no. 55), seed no. six is Radek Stepanek (ATP no. 57) followed by Carlos Berlocq (Argentina – ATP no. 69), the eight seeded player is Italian Filippo Volandri – ATP no. 73. “Again, it was the first week of Roland Garros that decided which players will be able to take part in our tournament,” said the tournament director, Petra Pichalova-Langerova. There are nine players from ATP top 100 participating in UniCredit Czech Open, which ranks the tournament among the best ones in its category. Moreover, at the end of January 2008 Mikhail Youzhny was ATP no. 8 and Roberdo was even ATP no. 5 at the end of August 2006! Thus these two players enter the history of Prostejov tournament – with them the number of players ever ranked in Top Ten who appeared on the courts in Prostejov increased to 23!
