02.06.2010 17:31:48 | Petra Pichalova-Langrova has been the director of the Prostejov’s challenger for twelve years but she has never experienced such a great raining trouble so far.
"It is true we had problems with rain at the World Junior Championship a few weeks ago, we had to shift matches to sport halls in Prerov and Mostkovice but the rain lasted for two days only. This year it is much more difficult, the worst days were Sunday when 24 matches must have been played, Tuesday with sixteen matches and Wednesday with twelve ones. The rain was heaviest in these the most demanding days."
"We somehow managed on Sunday but on Tuesday one of the matches lasted for more than seven hours … almost no matches were played outside and on Tuesday the last game at the Centre Court finished only at ten to midnight."
Today the rain stopped shortly before 2 p.m. and we started playing outside again on four courts at half past four. "I believe we will be able to keep the schedule and finish all matches in time. We do not want to make big shifts and the weather forecast is more favourable for next days."
