In the first round he clashed with Finn Jarrko Nieminen who lost to American Roddick at Rolland Garros last week. The match finished with a victory of a favoured Finn 6:1 and 6:3.
What did Robert Rumler say about his „first night“ at UniCredit Czech Open: "It was a priceless experience to appear at such a great tennis event. I am very thankful to Mr. Czernoshek for the wild card. Nieminen was a difficult opponent for me today, his legs are very fast and I am not used to such a speed. At juniors tournaments the game is not that fast. I was also a little nervous in the first set; then I calmed down and felt much better in the second one."
