04.06.2009 17:41:04 | The last semi-finalist of UniCredit Czech Open is Tomas Berdych who defeated the nineteen-year old Slovakian Martin Klizan.
“I did not know the playing style of my opponent much, I’ve never seen him to play and I had no idea what to expect, but from the very first moment on the court I knew he was going to play very aggressive tennis. I could also see he was lacking experience and sometimes was a little hot-headed.” The second seed Berdych is going to clash with Steve Darcis from Belgium in the semi-finals. “It is difficult to speak about the opponents in advance, I have never played against Darcis, but if he is in the semi-final he must be in a good shape.”
Two victories separate Tomas Berdych from the championship in the Prostejov challenger. If he wins he can join the company of Czech winners of the tournament including Radek Stefanek, Bohdan Ulihrach and Jan Hajek. “It is always nice to include your name in the list of tournament winners, especially if you play at home. But there are still two matches to go and it still is a long way.”
