“This year we have the best tournament in its history, I am very satisfied, we managed to achieve the goals we set before the tournament. We have fifteen players from the world top hundred in ATP ranking, which is a great improvement in comparison to the last year, and in addition to it the first two seeded players were Czech – Stepanek and Berdych. It is a pity Stepanek got injured in the first round; it is a pity not only for the tournament but also for Radek himself. I firmly believe he will recover soon ... I feel sorry even more because we had an amazing attendance here on Tuesday, the auditorium at the central court was full. If Radek did not get injured we would certainly have broken records in attendance. I am glad Tomas Berdych managed to defeat Bellucci, it was not an easy match for him at all,” evaluated the first half of the tournament Petra Píchalová. “What is especially important is that great competition gathered here in Prostejov, we could see good tennis from the first rounds and the second half of the tournament promises really perfect tennis spectacle. And if I was to mention one player from the whole list of participants – I would chose Ivana Ljubiczicz, he was world number 3 three years ago.
