03.06.2009 14:50:37 | Jan Hájek from Prostějov, winner of the tournament in 2006, had to fight in qualification to win a place in the main competition of UniCredt Czech Open and after a victorious battle with the Spanish Gimeno-Traver advanced to the quarterfinals. “I defeated him three years ago and I remember the match quite well so I felt confident today," stated Hajek after the match.
“I focused on the beginnings of sets to break him down as I know he is mentally unstable and this tactic came off well. I knew that if I would take the lead at the beginning he would leave out the ending and it proved right,” added happy Hajek.
