30.05.2009 12:50:06 | “We try to introduce former sport stars and celebrities at the associated events taking place during the tournament as it significantly increases the reputation of our events,”/b said the head of TK PLUS Miroslav Cernosek.
This time it is a former great tennis star and one of the financially most successful players of the world – Anna Kournikovova. Mr. Cernosek was able to allure the attractive star of a sport-show-business to Moravia with help of Karel Novacek who played charity and exhibition mix doubles with her in America.
"She is going to start the golf tournament in Slavkov, play an exhibition mixed match and will present charity cheques at the VIP party. Negotiations concerning her presence were not as difficult as we expected. Karel Novacek helped us a lot because he played two exhibitions matches with her. The only condition of hers was to spend an hour on her own after arrival to relax and get ready,” described her programme at UniCredit Czech Open Mr. Cernosek.
The associated events in Prostejov traditionally have high quality and Mr. Cernosek is really concerned about them. “Last year we had here the Prime Minister, ministers and members of the government, heads of companies from the top ten, Andrej Babis and Tomas Chrenek visit us traditionally as good friends. In the golf tournament participated Carl Lewis, Jim Courier, Richard Krajicek and Karel Novacek from Prostejov. They improve the glamour of the event and usually get engaged in other associated events including charity and VIP tournament. The presence of guests confirms their respect for our tournament and the associated events represent what we want to belong to our tournament,” stated Mr. Cernosek.
Anna Kournikovova will be another great celebrity to arrive to Prostejov. “They say she is arrogant, but she was always nice to me,” said the director of UniCredit Czech Open and former excellent Czech player Petra Pichalova-Langrova about Anna. They played doubles at the tournament in Budapest thirteen years ago and this year they should appear on the court together again in an exhibition match.
